To enable SMTP Authentication in Microsoft Outlook 2002 please follow the followinig steps :-

1. Open Outlook Express.

2. Click on "Tools" menu and then select the option "email accounts"

3. Select "View or change existing email accounts" and click "Next."

4. Select the email account and click the "Change" button on the right.

5. Click the "More Settings..." button in the bottom-right corner of the Email Accounts window.

6. In the Internet Email Settings window, click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Ensure that the

box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked.
